Kingdom Hearts III D23 Trailers Discussion

Hello guys hope you all are having a great day. Today we are going to be talking about the two new Kingdom Hearts III trailers that came out this past weekend and analyse them a little. The trailer starts with a quote that we have seen in previous trailers. The quote is “ Don’t assume your dreams are just fantasy. If you can imagine a world , believe in it.. And dive in.. “ I really like this quote it kinda represents what Kingdom Hearts is.

Next we see a mind blowing scene in which we see Marluxia. Now this part confused me a little but its still hype. Marluxia is Lauriam’s Nobody and he was destroyed in Chain of Memories by Sora but he is present here. Now I'm thinking of a couple of things. Maybe young Xehanort went into the past and brought Marluxia to the present before he was destroyed and that’s why he is here as Marluxia and not his normal self Lauriam. Or maybe Lauriam has decided to stick with the name Marluxia. We also see that Marluxia tells Sora about their previous encounter in which Sora won.

But Sora, Donald, and Goofy do not remember any events that happened in Chain of Memories because Namine deleted those memories so they could recover their old ones. Now I think Marluxia isn't part of Xehanort’s organization XIII, I think he has his own organization because he was a traitor and Xehanort is too smart to let Marluxia back in. We can also see Marluxia does not have Xehanort’s trademark gold eyes which indicate that a person has become a Xehanort.

Next we see a cutscene from the Toy Story world which looks amazing by the way. But after that we finally get the confirmation of the Monster’s Inc world from the leaks. And boy does it look amazing ! The textures, shades, and lighting look magnificent.

And we get a very lighthearted cutscene with Sulley, Mike, Boo, Sora, Donald, and Goofy.  Our protagonists monster forms actually look scary especially Sora and Goofy, Donald looks normal. But Sora and Goofy look really monsterlike, like if you see something that looks like Sora and Goofy pop out of your closet you would be freaked out trust me. The gameplay looks very fun and smooth. I can see some major differences from previous titles.

One , you can have more than 2 party members which is something I have always wanted. Next the summons have been replaced with Links, I am not too sure how this will work but it looks like it'll be a combination of summons and D-links from Birth By Sleep. Next we have flow motion and there does not seem to be a limit exactly like in Dream Drop Distance, and the shotlock from Birth By Sleep is back. The Keyblade transformations are looking really cool also, its like each world has its own variation of a keyblade transformation which will add variety to the gameplay.

The Tangled world comes up next in the trailer and it is looking fresh, best looking world to date and we have seen it in previous trailers. Wisdom drive form also returns but this time, Sora’s keyblade turns into a staff which is a welcome addition. Next we see swimming from Kingdom Hearts Final Mix come back, here I think its use will be minimal. Next we see Ariel from Atlantica as a link, and this is a relief because that means Atlantica won’t be a world in Kingdom Hearts III and that is a relief for every fan.  Next we see Sora do some cool actions like summon a tower of light and shooting light beams everywhere. And we see his keyblade transform into a big hammer again like in the past trailer. The music here is also very beautiful and hype, the choir here is perfect. It's a known fact that the Kingdom Hearts music is biblical.

Sora also summons some amusement park rides as we've seen in previous trailers and he rides a rocket with Woody and Buzz into a Heartless. We see some platforming as well, and it actually looks good this time around. Dream Eaters from Dream Drop Distance, most specifically Spirits have made a return in Kingdom Hearts III! And the best part of the trailer alongside the reveal of Marluxia is the return of Vanitas. And Ladies and Gentlemen this is too hype! The first trailer was so hype I was crying tears of joy especially when it showed the release year to still be 2018.

The second trailer showcased the new theme song of Kingdom Hearts III by Utada Hikaru. Who has done the themes for the previous games. The other themes were Simple and Clean ( Hikari in Japanese), Sanctuary ( Passion in Japanese), and this new one is called Don’t think twice ( Oath in Japanese). The community is split on this new theme, and personally I like it as an ending song, they should make a remix that is more hype like the past 2 songs.

But we shouldn't worry because Square always puts the hype version of the theme as the opening and the slower version as the ending. And at the end of the second trailer we see Riku and Mickey at the Dark Margin in the realm of Darkness. We know from 0.2 Birth By Sleep a Fragmentary Passage that Riku and Mickey are looking to save Master Aqua from the realm of Darkness, as she's been there for more than a decade. Riku leaves his keyblade there because it is broken, and he says he's leaving it there in case his other half needs it.

We see the duos new outfits and let me just say they are looking fresh. We also got a few screenshots that showed us Riku’s new keyblade. Nomura also stated that Kingdom Hearts III full release date will be unveiled at E3!!! This is too hype guys, I've been waiting a little over 10 years for III and i'm sure all of us fans are gonna cry our eyes out at E3 and even more when the game releases. Hope you guys enjoyed this blog which will soon be turned into a video! Have a good day guys !
