Why the Kingdom Hearts Spin Offs are Necessary PT2
The last time we talked about the following games Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, And Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep Final Mix. Today were going to talk about Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded, Dream Drop Distance, 0.2 Birth By Sleep a Fragmentary Passage, Kingdom Hearts X ( and the rest of the other names of the mobile game.
Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded
The reason that this game is called Re:Coded is because it used to be a mobile game called Kingdom Hearts Coded but it was remade as a DS game. A lot of people hate on this game because they think that the story is very lackluster. And they also hate on it just because it is a DS game, and when this game released people were mad it was on DS and not on console. Now this game just like all of the others is essential to understanding the full plot of Kingdom Hearts as a franchise. This game answers the question why Jiminy’s journal was empty during Kingdom Hearts II even though Namine fixed everyone's memories after the events of Chain of Memories. This game also elaborates on why Sora is such an important figure, and it tells us of all the people connected to Sora. It shows us the hurt all the characters are experiencing and that Sora is the only salvation from that hurt. That is why this game is important.
Kingdom Hearts HD Dream Drop Distance
Kingdom Hearts DDD used to be a 3DS game and it came out in 2012, but it is now remastered for PS4 in the Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD Final Chapter Prologue. This game is one of the most important games in the franchise. Tetsuya Nomura, the creator of the series stated that this game is the bridge to Kingdom Hearts III. And it also explains the time travel aspect of the series which explains a lot of stuff that happened in previous titles. This game also gives us a brief look at the potential story of Kingdom Hearts III.
Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth By Sleep a Fragmentary Passage
This game is in the 2.8 bundle, and it is the prologue of Kingdom Hearts III. In terms of gameplay, and graphics etc, Nomura told us that this game is like a Kingdom Hearts III demo. Think of it like Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes but with a lot more significant impacts on the story of III. This tells the story of the events that happened after Birth By Sleep in the realm of Darkness with Aqua and King Mickey. It also explains some stuff that happened at the end of Kingdom Hearts. And the end of this game is the beginning of Kingdom Hearts III, its some very hype stuff.
The Kingdom Hearts X games
This one is very difficult to explain as there are a lot of titles for the same game but let me give you a small timeline first. It goes like this , Kingdom Hearts X (chi) which was a browser/mobile game in Japan only and it explains the Keyblade war but only up to a certain point. Then it is Kingdom Hearts X back cover which is the story of X chi but from the perspective of the foretellers and we learn some very interesting stuff and it adds to the Keyblade war. Then it is Kingdom Hearts Unchained X which is the continuation of the previous 2 but it is the same story. Then its Kingdom Hearts Union X Cross which is the continuation of Unchained X. The way these work is that each year a new season comes out and it advances the story, but Square Enix renames the game each time but it's the same story. Notice how it still keeps the Kingdom Hearts X part because it's still the same story. This game (s) is essential because this is the prequel to the entire series, it sets up the universe and why the world is the way it is, why the world's are divided and the origins of the keyblade.
This has been why the Kingdom Hearts “ spin offs” games are as equally important as the numbered titles. And why if you play this series, you need to play all the games to get the complete story. To get the entire series all you need is a smartphone which most people have, and a PS4. On your smartphone just download Kingdom Hearts X Union Cross which is free ( you'll still get all the content of the previous X titles), and for PS4 buy Kingdom Hearts 1.5+2.5 HD ReMix, and Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD Final CHapter Prologue.
